Every Computer given out by CFK has been formatted of all previous owners information and software. The Computer is then reloaded with Windows 98 second edition or above. All needed drivers for Video and Sound are then loaded so the computer runs properly and productively. These computers are 100% Tested Working Machines, to the best of our knowledge.
Due to compatibility sometimes there may be problems when installing new hardware and software into or on the computer. Please consult a knowledgeable source for assistance when having a problem. These Computers can be upgraded for faster performance at AmegA.
If you are a new
user to computers, CFK suggests that you take classes to better understand
yours and your child’s new tool. Just like a Car a Computer needs maintenance
to continue running smoothly.

at AmegA Computers starting in
February for all levels of Computer knowledge.

2.Upgrading
· The computers that are donated are equipped with processors that range from 350mhz to 800mhz. The memory that is included ranges from 32megs to 128megs. CFK performs the best placement procedure possible with the information given by you.
· CFK hopes the amount of memory in your computer is suitable for your needs. If you feel that you need more memory for your programs to run better or your programs have minimal requirements, you may contact AmegA Computers for memory upgrade information and pricing.
· CFK does not feel the Internet is a necessity for your child’s education. If you feel that having the Internet is beneficial to the needs of your family then you will need a modem for any dial up service you sign up for. Exp… Juno, MSN, BTInet and many others. If a faster Internet is what you are looking for then you will need a Network Card, which is used for DSL or Cable Internet. Exp… Qwest DSL, BTInet, and Midcontinent Cable. · Due to unreliable printer life expectancy CFK does not give away any printers. The price for Ink in most Inkjet printers is very expensive. If you were to buy Ink for a printer given by CFK and the printer was to quit working then you would be out the price of ink. Printers today are very affordable and they come with ink 80% of the time. A new printer would have a warranty and ink, which is a practical solution for your printing needs. · There are many items that will increase the speed and the capabilities of your computer. Motherboard, Memory, Processor, Bigger Hard Drive, CD Burner Drive, Printers and Cameras.
